What is I.R.B.O.?
It is a credential program created by a combined group of national and international organizations in the field of Drug Dependency, Counseling, Chaplaincy, and Therapeutic Communities, which arises from the need to certify mental health professionals who are trained to work in therapeutic communities.
Professionals who are certified must demonstrate that they have the skills to provide youth and adults with assessment, planning, counseling, treatment, case management, and continuity in particular.
They must be up to date on the type of rehabilitation treatment, also in pharmacology, and procedures required for voluntary admission, etc.

What is I.R.B.O.-1?

It is a program to train Christian counseling professionals, aimed at pastors who need to address the affected population of the church or circumscribed areas.

This certification was designed to evaluate and prepare those people who are undergoing academic training at the counseling level.

The IRBO-1 certification will allow them to work with pastoral counseling, so that clients, patients or people in the community in need have confidence in the service that will be provided.

The certification will evaluate the skills that the counselor has to address community problems.

The I.R.B.O. Objectives

To enable pastors interested in counseling or chaplaincy to obtain a certification that supports them to work in communities that require it.

To maintain the continuing education of professionals who wish to pursue this counseling service.

I.R.B.O. is committed to continually reviewing all certified professionals regarding prevention, education, intervention and treatment standards in accordance with internationally established criteria.

I.R.B.O. is recognized as Category II by the UN.

Recognized by CICAD and the OAS.

Recognized by the Mental Health and Addiction Services Administration.

Department of the Family of Puerto Rico.

COSOC of Puerto Rico, INC.

The IRBO certification will be renewed annually.
